So this month is full of green. Not only are ads and commercials over-using (and arguably using inaccurately) the phrase “going green,” but we have spring time and St. Patrick’s Day approaching! Let’s not forget Dr. Suess’ Birthday which makes everyone think of green eggs and ham… Needless to say, there’s lots of green.

A contest is being sponsored for photographers this month to enter a “green” photo to win a canvas print and a new camera bag (I entered the Epiphanie Camera Bags Picture It photo contest. http://bit.ly/xN3Pqc). I wanted to share with you the photo that I’m choosing…

This is a photo taken in Athens, Greece one night walking the streets. I thought this was appropriate because it not only has green lighting and green objects, but highlights the green bottled beer (in honor of St. Patricks Day) and also a bike (in honor of truly “going green” and driving less which also signifies warmer weather).

As far as the photo project I am working on, it’s still underway, but has been delayed some by weather. Some of the pictures need to be taken outside and lets be honest, most pictures outside look better when it’s not winter since we don’t get snow in Atlanta… Stay tuned.

I had originally wanted this blog to be my blog for the projects I was working on… I made a few posts with my wedding photography over the past year, but I went ahead and deleted them. Why you ask? I have launched a new company and brand dedicated to weddings and portraits called Shutter Sweet Photography. I also have another company dedicated to corporate photography and graphic design work that I’ve branded as Skylight Creative Group. So far, both are keeping very busy and I am excited to see how they grow.

So now you might be asking, “well then what the heck is this website for?” Well, I think I’m finally getting back to the main reason I created website, which is to share my work. However, this website has nothing to do with my photography or graphic design business. I want to share my personal projects on this site. Projects that I am working on – mainly photography – to convey a message. To tell a story. To make a statement. To challenge myself and possibly you, the viewer. To get people to think and possibly act. I hope to share with you my vision and heart through photography.

I am really looking forward to the new year and my first project that is in the works. I will be photographing the project starting the first of the year and I am not sure when I will be releasing the first post. More details coming soon! Until then, have a blessed holiday season and a Happy New Year!
